From early-game essentials to late-game powerhouses, these companions are indispensable for any aspiring conqueror.
Best Combat Pals - Early Game
These are the best Pals to use in battle at the start of the game, between player levels 1 and 15.
As an early-game combat Pal, Foxparks offers one of the first weapon-type partner skills you’ll be able to get in Palworld: Huggy Fire. All you need to do is build a harness at the Pal workshop, which will cost you some flame organs, leather, and palladium fragments, and you’ll be able to use Foxparks as a flamethrower. While this attack is incredibly effective against Grass-type Pals, beware that it’s a bit slow and it doesn’t have amazing range, so it may leave you vulnerable.
Best Combat Pals - Mid Game
These are the best Pals to use in combat in mid-game, which is roughly from level 15 to 30.
Once you’ve gained a bit more experience, the best mid-game combat Pal you can get is Loupmoon, the vampire-and-werewolf-in-one. This Dark-type Pal has incredibly damaging melee attacks as well as a special claw attack from its partner skill. Combined with a quick running speed and targeting, the Loupmoon is the perfect combat Pal to help you reach endgame.
Palworld’s fluffy Sweepa Pal may not look very intimidating, but don’t let looks deceive you. Although this Pal isn’t especially strong initially, you can catch a bunch of Swee minions to team up with your Sweepa - thanks to their partner skills, the Swee will strengthen your Sweepa, thus creating a much stronger combat Pal suitable for mid-game combat. Sweepa is also quite tanky, which can be a huge help if you’re having trouble staying alive.
As one of the best tanks in Palworld, you don't want to miss Warsect. Not only is he himself very defensive, but this giant armoured beetle also improves the player's defense thanks to his partner skill. Dealing excellent Grass- and Ground-type damage of his own, Warsect even improves the player's Fire-type damage, which allows for a very varied combat team.
The sturdy Blazamut is the best Fire-type combat Pal. This fiery rhino deals massive damage and has some really great ranged and area-of-effect fire attacks - the latter is particularly useful if you're fighting against groups. Thanks to Blazamut's partner skill, your Fire damage will be enhanced.
Being a legendary Pal, Paladius receives a huge stat boost, increasing his attack damage, defense, and movement speed. The latter is especially nice is you want to use Paladius as a combat mount - that's right, this awesome Pal can also be ridden. Paladius is a Neutral-type Pal, but he also has a few Ice-type attacks up his sleeve.
Although similar to Paladius , it's a good idea to get Necromus as well, as this legendary knight is the best Dark-type combat Pal. Although its attacks are very strong regardless of combat style, this Pal can also be ridden as a mount, which allows for some high-speed mounted combat - faster even than Paladius.
Our list of the best combat Pals in Palworld wouldn't be complete without mentioning the game's best healer; Lyleen. This Grass-type Pal can use its partner skill to restore your HP, which allows for frequent healing. It's an amazing combat Pal to have if you prefer to deal damage yourself and have a Pal back you up rather than let the Pal handle most of the fighting.
If you're looking for an overpowered combat Pal, look no further than Shadowbeak. This intimidating griffin is a specialized Dark-type fighter who's blessed with high attack damage, high defense, and high HP. Shadowbeak can even be ridden, and thanks to its partner skill, will enhance Dark-type attacks.
