Palworld - Best Pals to Capture Early to Mid Game
When you're starting out in Palworld, it's a good idea to catch 10 of every single Pal, to help you level up faster
When beginning your journey in Palworld, it's advisable to capture 10 of each Pal to expedite your leveling progress. However, prioritizing certain Pals early on can significantly enhance your team's strength and boost your overall efficiency and productivity. Below, you'll discover a compilation of the top Palworld Pals to capture during the early and mid-game phases, specifically before reaching level 30.
Best Pals for Your Team
If you find a Lucky pal with good passives,
you may want to consider adding them to your team,
as they usually have powerful attack moves!
The best Pals to add to your party before level 30 are:
Eikthyrdeer
This deer-like Pal boasting imposing antlers serves as an excellent early-game mount choice. Its signature ability, Antler Uppercut, allows it to charge forward, inflicting damage to both Pals and enemies in its path. Moreover, this ability doubles as a movement speed boost, offering added versatility.
Additionally, this Pal excels at aiding in Pal capture endeavors by knocking down and damaging any Pals it encounters. This strategic advantage allows you to gradually weaken their health, thereby increasing your chances of successfully capturing them while they're incapacitated on the ground.
Look for Eikthyrdeer with passive skills that increase your traversal speed!
Vanwyrm
Vanwyrm is probably the second Pal you'll come across that can serve as a flying mount. Obtaining a flying mount early on is highly recommended, as it significantly simplifies navigation across the world and allows you to access Fast Travel points and Lifmunk Effigies more easily.
The initial saddle available for a flying mount is Nitewing’s Saddle at level 15, followed by Vanwyrm's Saddle at level 21. It's advisable to switch from Nitewing to Vanwyrm as soon as possible, as Vanwyrm boasts greater combat prowess.
The best place to catch Vanwyrm is around -115, -416 on the map.
Quivern
Quivern is an excellent combat option due to its ability to learn Draconic Breath (Dragon), Acid Rain (Water), and Grass Tornado (Grass), providing you with a wider range of options for type matchups during battles.
Quivern is a formidable boss that typically spawns at level 23 at coordinates -256, -131. However, its spawn rates are generally low, so we suggest encountering it on one of the Sanctuary islands.
Katress
Katress excels in combat, boasting a wide array of powerful Dark attacks. What sets Katress apart is its Partner skill, Grimoire Collector, which increases the drop rate of items from Neutral Pals when Katress is in battle.
Since collecting drops from Pals can be time-consuming, having Katress by your side in the early game will significantly boost your leather and item gathering efficiency.
Katress is a boss that spawns at level 23 at 242, -332. They can also be found spawning at night-time.
Warsect
Warsect is a formidable Ground/Grass beetle known for its immense attack and defense stats. In battle, Warsect's Partner Skill boosts your defense and adds Fire damage to your attacks. With its exceptional defensive capabilities, Warsect is an ideal Pal to have on your team for the long haul.
Warsect spawns as a boss at level 30 at 161, -223. Its overworld spawn rates are low, so it's best to engage it at a Sanctuary spawn instead.
Best Pals for Your Base
We recommend catching these Pals and getting them to work on your base as early as possible.
Vixy
Vixy drop Pal spheres and arrows when assigned to Ranch. You’ll need plenty of Pal spheres to progress and level up, so we recommend grabbing two of these and placing them in your Ranch as soon as possible. They can be caught all across the starting zone.
Tombat
Tombat Pals are valuable assets for your base, as they are among the first Pals that provide Rank 2 mining, gathering, and transporting capabilities. They excel at breaking down ore and then transporting it, fulfilling a crucial role in your base operations. You can capture Tombat Pals in the starting zone during nighttime.
Mossanda
Mossanda are useful as they have Rank 2 planting, handiwork, and lumbering, and Rank 3 transporting. They don’t eat much, either, so they're easier to keep satisfied. However, they're a little more difficult to find than Tombat - they can’t be found in the starting zone, instead you’ll need to head northeast, over the sea. The ones we've seen are around level 27.
Wixen
Wixen are the earliest Pals that offer Rank 3 handiwork, plus they've also got Rank 2 kindling and transporting. A Fire Pal for kindling is crucial to help you produce ingots from ore, and Wixen can also transport items and give you a hand with building. Wixen are rare, however - the best place to find them we've found is the large volcanic fissure to the northeast of the map.
Digtoise
Digtoise specializes in mining, boasting a Rank 3 proficiency in this area. What sets Digtoise apart is its partner skill, Drill Crusher, which significantly speeds up the mining process. To utilize Digtoise effectively, you'll need to craft its Harness first. Once equipped, include Digtoise in your party and direct it towards the rock you wish to mine. With its Shell Spin ability, Digtoise will swiftly obliterate the rock, making it one of the fastest mining options available.
The best place to find Digtoise is in the middle of the map, around coordinates -158, -71.
